Redevelopment of The Former Dyffryn Lower School site

This is notification of commencement of the Pre-Application Consultation Stage, in line with the statutory requirements of the Planning (Wales) Act 2015. The date of commencement is 28th October 2022, and all responses must be received by 25th November 2022. 

 

What are the proposals:

Development for 43no. affordable dwellings and associated works including a new access, an internal road network, landscaping, sustainable drainage, car and cycle parking

The former Dyffryn Lower school has been closed since August 31st 2018. Its community function has since been taken over by the opening of Ysgol Cwm Brombil, a new 21st Century 3-16 English-medium community school that accommodates 1,455 pupils, which has been fully operational since November 2018. Since its closure, the Dyffryn Lower School site has remained derelict and vacant.

Hard copies of the Planning Application 

If you wish to view hard copies of the Pre-Application Consultation documents, they will be available to view at the St Theodore’s Church Hall, Talbot Road, SA13 1LB from 28th October to 25th November.

A public exhibition will be held on 8th November from 18.00 – 20.00 at Taibach Community Centre, Duke Street, SA13 1NA.
