KEW Planning provided consultancy support to the London Borough of Enfield, working with the applicant to ensure the application was heard at planning committee within six months of appointment.
Enfield Council planning committee members voted to approve a ‘slot in’ full application for 723 units, an uplift of 322, from the extant masterplan granted in 2017 from 1080 to deliver a total of 1,402 new residential homes with 444 affordable housing (31.7%).
This application sought to maximise density, being the last phase, to ensure viability and delivery of housing, as well as provide significant areas of new green space (8,776sqm) in the form of public realm, a new green street and new green squares. Vistry Group Countryside Partnerships in conjunction with LBE’s Housing Renewal Programme have built out the previous 5 phases of the Alma Estate Regeneration.
This is a high quality housing scheme, delivering numerous public benefits helping to meet the Borough’s housing targets.
“Countryside & Vistry recognised the expertise that KEW Planning brought to the Alma Estate planning application. The team provided excellent applicant engagement, demonstrating a fair and well-prepared approach throughout the process. They were easy to contact, proactive in resolving outstanding matters, and showed a genuine willingness to progress issues as they arose. Kathryn’s performance at the planning committee was particularly impressive—she remained composed, professional, and in control, ensuring a smooth and successful outcome.”
