The Vale of Glamorgan Council appointed ISG Construction for the delivery of the £21million extensions to Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg through the 21st Century School Band B programme. The works comprises of extensions and refurbishment of the comprehensive element of the wider school campus:

- an extension to the dining hall;

The proposed refurbishment and extensions to the existing school would deliver improved modern teaching facilities, that allow the school to increase its capacity in the number of pupils over the next 10 plus years, and also enhance the teaching and learning experience for staff and pupils.
Planning Issues:
The main concern was the impact the increase in pupils would have on the highway network, and the impact the flood lighting would have on residents nearby.

Result:
KEW Planning undertook the Pre-Application Consultation (PAC), which also involved a public exhibition; prepared the Planning, Design and Access Statement, reviewed all the technical documents and co-ordinated the submission of the planning application. KEW Planning worked closely with the planning officer to agree a strategy, providing additional information where required for drainage, floodlighting, highways and details of the management, additional representations in response to neighbour objections. This led to the application being unanimously to be approved at the June 2019 Planning Committee by Members.
